MFCD (Muslim Foundation for Culture and Development) is a humanitarian and development
agency incorporated in Parliament and registered as a national Non Governmental Organisation.
Its operations cover all parts of Sri Lanka. MFCD draws its strength from its network
of volunteers spread throughout the country.
MFCD was formally established in 2001 and has made a significant contribution to humanitarian
and development initiatives in Sri Lanka through its development projects and disaster relief
interventions.
As a humanitarian agency MFCD has earned a reputation for its rapid and comprehensive disaster
relief programmes. MFCD is a member of the Asian Disaster Relief & Response Network (ADRRN).
As a development agency MFCD engages in Livelihoods, Shelter, and Orphans and Childcare programmes.
